Read the full story - “Some months ago a wicked storm punished my neighborhood downing trees and flooding streets. It was a rather atypical storm that nowadays is all too typical; a nasty zinger that hit fast like a jab to the jaw that left something I’d never seen before – ping pong ball sized hail. I took pictures and forwarded them to my insurance company. In time, their adjuster arrived and after a cursory ten minute inspection smugly concluded that I had suffered no hail damage. “The roof’s fifteen years old,” he said packing up his gear fast, “it’s old and beat up not because of hail but age.” My insurance company is trusted in the industry so I did what most would - I trusted their expertise and their inspector and figured he has my best interest at heart. Days later, a roof repair truck from Alumni Roofing drove into the neighborhood and stopped at my neighbor’s house. A young man exited the vehicle and for the next hour inspected his roof for damage. He found plenty! I watched him from my window like Gladys Kravitz on Bewitched as Dusty scoured the roof, noting the bad spots on the shingles by circling them in white chalk. By the end of the inspection the roof looked like an elementary school playground covered in lines and circles as if up there a thousand tic tac toe games had been played! I wondered… if he had such extensive damage why didn’t I? I made the fortuitous decision to walk over and talk to Dusty, to hire Alumni Roofing, to get help protecting my home. I am so happy that I did! Dusty fought hard for me, one time arriving an hour before my insurance company’s rep did (for the re-inspection) so he could show them on the roof the damage he found. I learned that adjusters aren’t employees of insurance companies but rather only contract employees – people with sometimes hidden agendas that might be contrary to that of the homeowner. Let me be clear here - without Alumni Roofing in my corner I would have trusted the initial assessment and today be stuck with a leaky, ugly, and damaged roof. Today my roof is brand spanking, looks great, and also professionally installed and vented properly so now my attic is cooler in the summer and my energy bills much lower. I could go on and on – on how Dusty installed free of charge some roofing parts for an elderly gentlemen because his insurance company denied him, or how Dusty’s crew took such great effort all the nails were picked up after installation, or how he explained everything to me and helped walk me through the process - but you get the picture. I have not been compensated for writing this review NOR am I some Facebook creation or paid reviewer. I live in Jackson County Georgia and because of Alumni – and Dusty alone – I have an awesome roof. Maybe they can help you too. Give him a chance, you won’t regret it for a second.”
